Winter Weather Update

Note: This entry was last modified on February 15, 2021: 2:27 pm and may be out of date.

The unprecedented weather has left millions without power in Texas, including many citizens in Heath. Please be assured that the City, Oncor, Atmos and the Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management have been in communication throughout this incident and will continue to be so. The power outages throughout parts of the county that have been out for hours may not be a part of the rolling black outs. There are other significant issues throughout North Texas that Oncor is working to resolve as quickly as possible.

Please stay off the roads, which are very slick under the snow. If you do need to leave to find warmth, drive slowly. City Hall at 200 Laurence Drive has a back up generator and is available as a warming shelter if needed.

City Hall will be closed for business tomorrow and Wednesday. A decision regarding Thursday and Friday will be made later in the week, based upon the impact of the second storm predicted.

Trash collection on Tuesday has been canceled. When services resume, we will provide the collection schedule. At this time, that information is not available.

Our essential workers, DPS and Public Safety, are working at full capacity on issues including shutting off water due to broken pipes. We are grateful for their hard work and dedication.

If you need to have water shut off at your home or business in Heath, call 972-771-7724.
