ADDITIONAL WATER NOT AVAILABLE

6 MILLION GALLONS PER DAY

DAILY USAGE

Daily water usage continues to trend high. Daily gallons used has hit 5.9 million twice in the past seven days, which is above the official trigger of 5.7 million gallons per day to initiate Stage 3 water restrictions. The City’s daily allotment from the City of Rockwall is 6 million gallons per day.

ADDITIONAL WATER NOT AVAILABLE

There is no additional water to purchase. Despite numerous requests to obtain additional water, our water supplier does not have any additional water to provide. This is a limit in the supplier’s ability to produce additional water; not a limit in the City’s ability to purchase or pump the water. The City of Heath’s pumping capacity is nearly twice the amount we are allotted.

LARGE DEMAND

LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION WATERING CREATES THE GREATEST DEMAND ON OUR LIMITED SUPPLY.

Please help avoid Stage 3 restrictions by following your irrigation schedule (which prohibits weekend watering). Stage 3 restrictions would limit watering with an irrigation system to once every other week on your scheduled day.

MONITORING

City management will closely monitor water usage over the weekend and on Monday to see if consumption is reduced. If not, it is anticipated that Stage 3 restrictions will be initiated on Tuesday, August 22.
