WATER PLAN UPDATE FEBRUARY 10, 2025

The City Council received an update regarding the Water Bridge Plan and the Water Feasibility Study now underway from Director of Public Works Bryan Creed at the January 28 meeting. The feasibility study be completed in March.

The plan includes six potable water wells to be built in 2025 and 2026, plus a 1.5-million-gallon elevated storage tank to be built by 2026. Bids for the first well were opened on February 6 and will be presented to City Council. RFQs for the elevated storage tank will go out in March.

The plan should bring total water storage to 6.5 million gallons, up from the current five million, and increase the daily water available to 10 – 12 million gallons per day. That is up from the current maximum of 6 million gallons per day. The final numbers will depend upon well production.

The plan also includes contract negotiations with our current providers.

Next steps in the plan include obtaining opinions of probable cost, securing funding based on cost predictions, and aligning the rate study to reflect those expenditures.

The City thanks you for continuing to follow the Year-Round Water Conservation Schedule, which provides watering twice per week with an irrigation system.

You can find the schedule on the Water Wise page.
