Tornado Disaster Relief

Note: This entry was last modified on December 29, 2015: 11:50 am and may be out of date.

The generosity and desire to help our neighbors and friends following the tornadoes on Saturday night has been overwhelming and illustrates what makes Heath so great. Officers with our Department of Public Safety are providing patrol support in Rowlett, but we also have Heath residents seeking ways that they can help.

As we communicate with officials with the Red Cross and in the cities impacted, including Rowlett, it is clear that the immediate need for supplies and volunteer labor is minimal. This may change in the days and weeks ahead, and we will help publish how you can help as we learn of such opportunities.

In the meantime, here is something that you can do to assist in relief and recovery efforts now:

Donating Items

If you would like to contribute anything on the list below, please bring the items to Heath City Hall, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Work gloves
  • Heavy-duty trash bags
  • Home Depot, Wal-Mart & Target Gift Cards

Please do not bring any other items at this time (e.g. food, clothing, toys, water, blankets)

City staff will coordinate distribution of your donations with Helping Hands. Thank you so much for your care. Let’s continue to keep our neighbors in the cities impacted by the tornadoes in our thoughts and prayers.
