PARKS AND TRAILS OF HEATH (PATH) DONORS RECOGNIZED
Mayor Jeremiah McClure and the City Council recognized a generous donation by Heath residents Bob and Kathy Tolbert to the Parks And Trails of Heath (PATH) fund raising program at the January 14 City Council meeting.
Upon learning that the vision the Park Board had to bring pickleball to Heath through the Towne Center Park renovation was in jeopardy due to a changing budget and rising costs, the Tolbert’s made a generous contribution to PATH to save the amenity.
The Tolbert’s contribution to the PATH program ensures the new pickle ball pavilion at Towne Center Park is constructed as designed with eight full pickleball courts, six of which will be shaded.
“We thank these incredibly kind residents who are committed to our hometown,” said Mayor McClure. “Their contribution exemplifies what we can achieve as a community when we are united around common goals.”
City Council also acknowledged an anonymous donation to PATH to support a Heath City Hall beautification plan that includes refurbishing the exterior monument sign, hardscaping the entrance and exit corners, expanding the front landscape beds, and extending the sidewalk to connect the City’s public trails system to Amy Parks Elementary School.
PATH was launched by the City of Heath Park Board in 2019 to unite citizens in expanding the parks, trails and green spaces to increase the quality of life and community vitality of Heath’s premier outdoor lifestyle community.
A new PATH Steering Committee led by John Walker was formed in the summer of 2024 to take the program to the next level by securing public-private partnerships to accelerate the quality-of-life projects our citizens want and deserve.
