New Smart911 System available to Heath Citizens

Note: This entry was last modified on May 12, 2015: 12:38 pm and may be out of date.

The Rockwall Police Department’s new Smart911 system is now available to all citizens served by its 9-1-1 Dispatch, which includes Heath residents.

The Smart 911 system allows you to create a Safety Profile for your household to give dispatchers and first responders vital information about yourself, family members, your home, pets and even vehicles that will be immediately available if you make an emergency call. These details can save valuable seconds or even minutes during an emergency.

Your Smart911 Safety Profile is secure and will only be available to the 9-1-1 system during times of an emergency call. No fields are mandatory, so you can input only information that you feel is critical for emergency situations such as medical conditions or allergies, the bedroom location of a disabled person or photographs of a child with special needs that will provide real time information for police officers, firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).

Smart911 is a national service and your profile will travel with you across the country to any other locations that may have the system in place, including 36 states and more than 1000 cities. You can set up your Smart911 Profile by registering at www.smart911.com. Your secure profile can be tied to both a home and cell phone number.
