Community Kicks Off Easter at Heart of Heath 5k Run/Walk
More than 300 hundred participants enjoyed picture-perfect weather for the Heart of Heath 5k Run/Walk on Easter Saturday, April 19.
Taking first place in the run for the third consecutive year was Justin Tokus with a 17.32 time. Placing second was Casey Allison, 20.00; and third was Timothy Boseman, 20.32. The Top Overall Female was 12-year-old Maddie Hatfield, 21.49.
“The City of Heath appreciates the generous support of the sponsors and prize donors, and thanks the Special Events Board, volunteers and City staff for their hard work to make the Heart of Heath a signature event for our community,” said Heath Mayor Lorne Liechty, noting that proceeds from the run benefit Heath’s parks and trails.
“Our goal is to continue to make this a hometown tradition that encourages participation by residents and guests of all ages and competitive levels” he added. “The new Bunny Dash for Easter Eggs was a great addition that supports this goal.”

Boy Scouts Troop 157 volunteered their time to scatter 5,000 Easter eggs throughout Towne Center Park for the Bunny Dash for Easter Eggs.
