City of Heath Honors Staff: Detective Brian Burton Named Employee of the Year

The City of Heath recently honored employees for their outstanding performance in 2013, including Detective Brian Burton, who was named Employee of the Year.

“Brian has demonstrated exemplary service to the citizens of Heath since joining us in 2003,” said City Manager Ed Thatcher. “He has fulfilled many key roles and responsibilities within the Department of Public Safety, including community outreach, and now is serving as a detective.”

In addition to the Employee of the Year Award, Detective Burton was honored with a 10-Year Service Award and received a Certificate of Merit for his outstanding contributions to the Department of Public Safety earlier in the year.

Three City of Heath staff members were recognized as Departmental Employees of the Year including Norma Duncan, Administrative Services; Francisco Gonzalez, Public Works; and Officer Michael Weems, Department of Public Safety.

“An important part of what makes Heath a premiere hometown is the quality and caliber of the City employees like Brian, Norma, Francisco and Michael,” said Mr. Thatcher.

“From our professional DPS officers who are triple certified as police officers, firefighters and EMTs, to our tireless Public Works staff, there is a shared commitment throughout City Hall to provide the best service to our citizens,” he added.
