This spring the City of Heath launched an exciting new project with the consulting firm of Kimley-Horn to develop a design for the Heath Towne Center, also known as the Towne Center Overlay District, and a design for Towne Center Park.

Now it’s time to begin gathering citizen input! The first survey focuses on Towne Center Park and is available online at www.DesignHTC.com. The deadline for responding is Monday, June 7. You can also find more information and updates about both the Towne Center Park and Heath Towne Center designs at this digital project hub.

“We encourage citizens to take 10 minutes or so to share their observations, experiences and hopes for Towne Center Park so that at the end of this project we have a vision and road map to achieve the kind of gathering and recreational space our community wants and deserves,” said Mayor Kelson Elam.

Both the Towne Center Overlay District Design and Towne Center Park designs are funded by the Heath Economic Development Corporation and Heath Municipal Benefits Corporation (HEDC/HMBC). A stakeholder committee that includes HEDC/HMBC Board members, City Council liaisons, City staff, HTC property owners and HTC businesses is directing the Towne Center Overlay District Design. The City of Heath Park Board is directing the Towne Center Park design, which will support the Board’s long-term park planning budget.

Anticipated completion is Fall 2021.
