A Message from Rockwall County Health Authority 03/20/20

Please be advised, as of 12 p.m. Friday, March 20, there have been ZERO confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Rockwall County under public health monitoring. However, the Rockwall County Health Authority has spoken to physicians seeing patients all over the county for suspected COVID-19 infections. Each of the physicians contacted feels they are already seeing patients with mild COVID-19 infections. The physicians have instructed patients to isolate at home without testing. At this point, it is safe to assume that there is some level of community spread in Rockwall County.

Everyone must do their part in protecting themselves, their families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, community, and the healthcare system by following CDC guidance on self-care at home if experiencing mild COVID-19 symptoms. If symptoms worsen and you begin to develop shortness of breath, contact your healthcare provider before going to their office or an emergency room. Please understand that testing capabilities remain very limited across the country.
