Heath Department of Public Safety Promotes Sergeants
Heath Department of Public Safety Detective Erik Wiedeman and Officers Chase Scarbrough and Zach Wilfong were promoted to the rank of Sergeant on May 5 during a swearing in ceremony led by DPS Chief Brandon Seery at Heath City Hall.
“We thank Sergeants Wiedeman, Scarbrough and Wilfong and their families for the hard work and time each has sacrificed to achieve the rank of Sergeant,” said Chief Seery. “We are confident in their abilities and look forward to all that they will bring to the department and community in these important leadership positions.”
Sergeant Wiedeman began his career in 2008 and joined Heath DPS in 2015 where he serves over Criminal Investigations. He has a degree in Fire Protection from Kilgore College.
Sergeant Scarbrough began his career in 2009 and joined Heath DPS in 2013. He leads the A Shift and is completing his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Texas A&M Commerce.
Sergeant Wilfong began his career in 2006 and joined Heath DPS in 2015. He leads the C Shift and is also pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Texas A&M Commerce.
The Heath DPS includes two civilian employees and 29 officers who are triple certified as fire fighters, police officers and EMTs.
